The DT-178A can be used even in demanding field conditions thanks to its durable housing, strong magnetic mounting and portable design. Three-axis acceleration logging allows vibration directions to be analysed separately, making it a professional data logger of choice for engineering inspections and research projects alike. With ±0.5 g accuracy, a ±18 g range and multiple detection modes (normal, motion, free fall), the DT-178A performs above its class in vibration measurement.
The CEM DT-178A measures acceleration changes on three axes using an internal MEMS semiconductor sensor, calculating peak acceleration, average value, free-fall duration and vector sum for every measurement. The logging interval can be set between one second and 24 hours. When a defined trigger value is exceeded the unit begins recording and captures all acceleration data for the duration of the event. Once measurements are transferred to a computer over USB, the software allows graphical analysis, peak detection and time-based comparison.
The software displays measured vibration graphically and allows correlation between the X, Y and Z axes. Peak acceleration values can be analysed over time and free-fall events detected automatically — used particularly in transport testing to identify when products were subjected to impact. Data can be exported as CSV or Excel.
The CEM DT-178A vibration data logger is an excellent solution for industrial and research applications, with three-axis measurement, MEMS sensor technology, ample memory and low power consumption. Its wide frequency range, flexible logging options and robust housing make it dependable in the field and in the laboratory. It is designed for professionals who need high accuracy in vibration, shock, jolt and free-fall analysis.
